Unsafe Surveillance: What Engineers are Thinking?

Security cameras are a basic measure of surveillance to help ensure security on areas that could potentially be at risk, areas such as homes, shops, banks and more. Trust is put in the makers of these cameras to ensure a safe and trustworthy system to protect these areas with. However, Justin Cacak, Senior Security Engineer at Gotham Digital Science, seems to realise the lack of security these cameras actually provide.
Cacak explains how the most popular brands of security cameras are actually sold with remote internet access and weak password security, resulting in a much easier way for hackers to seize control over the security of these cameras and further gain access to the live footage. These cameras are generally used by banks, retailers, hotels, hospitals and corporations, proving to be a huge threat if the security does not improve.
