Week 6 Tutorial

E-petitions

Through online activities you can do many things, such as signing an e-petition as shown by the screenshot below. This petition looks to enforce a 'never to be released' sentence of serious child offenders. This is something I look to support because no child should have to face something so horrible. The link to sign this petition can be found below!

Professional Bloggers

Through professional blogs we can gain knowledge from those who specialize in certain areas. Commenting on these blogs gives you a sense of involvement on the topic being introduced and allows you to communicate with the blogger themselves.

Barack Obama

Barack Obama is up to plenty today through his Twitter Feed.

He tweets about how we should reject cynicism.

He tweets about Tanyce the cancer survivor.

And how this has been the least productive congress in history.

Censoring the Internet

In 2012 the Australian Government was planning to censor the internet through an internet filter. This was an attempt to block child pornography websites through the internet and a large majority of things on the blacklist of the internet. This plan was aborted as it was recognized that the government, no matter how hard they tried, would never be able to effectively shut down these websites with out controversy as it would block safe sites also.
